The Gifts that keep on Giving

In the month of December many write down items that they want for Christmas

Many are asked questions like " did you get what you wanted for Christmas", and

Many overlook the true gifts that continue to Bless us long after they have been received

These Gifts given by the Lord that keep on giving.

Here are a few gifts that get overlooked but keeps on giving:

The Gift of Life:

Waking up everyday is not something promised to us, but gifted by the Lord. Having another day to succeed righteously and spread the gospel of the Lord is not something we should take lightly but value everyday we awake. In (John 3:16) we are informed that " God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". If you believe in Jesus you are seeking eternal life and thankful for the time we are given on earth.

The Gift of Time:

Life being uncertain as only God knows when we will leave this earth, time is limited and should be used wisely. In (Psalm 90:12) a prayer was being prayed to " teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom" Not taking the time we are given lightly but understanding time if gifted to us and should be used righteously.

The Gift of Grace:

Grace is a free Gift of God that is undeserving yet still provided to us daily. Grace is enough and shows perfectly when we go to the Lord honestly, and humbly. As seen in (2 Corinthians 12:9) Jesus lets us know " My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." With understanding of Grace the only response we should have as believers is gratitude as grace is unmerited favor.

The Gift of Salvation:

Not by what we did on our own, but by God's grace we were saved and received through faith seen in (Ephesians 2:8). As we are not saved by works but of Salvation that gives us the ability to do good works prepared to us by God before hand. In Ephesians Paul was talking to us and he wanted us to understand that grace is the foundation of salvation as Salvation is a divine gift from the Lord bringing joy to our lives.

The Gift of Purpose:

Many say that they want to know what their purpose is in life, without understanding that purpose flows only from salvation. You cannot understand the purpose God has given to you unless you have Salvation. We were designed on purpose and purposely designed as seen in (Ephesians 2: 10) " for we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Matthew 5:16) tells us "with our purpose we should let the light shine before others." Purpose gives our gifts a task that can lead to our calling, as all of our gifts work for God's purpose.

As we gain understanding and value the gifts God gives to us we then can grow in our purpose. May this provide more understanding of the sacrifice and love provided to us daily.
